I Love My Park Day--the largest single-day volunteer event in NYS--presents a perfect opportunity to clean up our favorite parks and shorelines, plant trees and gardens, restore trails and wildlife habitat, remove invasive species, and work on various site improvement projects--all which help to prepare our iconic state park system and public lands for the start of the season.
If you have questions about hosting or participating in an I Love My Park Day event or volunteering at this year's event, please contact us at ilovemypark@ptny.org

13th Annual Newburgh Community Cleanup
Now in its 13th year, the Newburgh Community Cleanup is a city-wide volunteer effort to keep Newburgh clean and green all year long. Hosted by Safe Harbors of the Hudson in collaboration with the City of Newburgh and local partners, the event has had a real and measurable impact over the years: at the first Cleanup in 2011, volunteers removed 17.49 tons of garbage from city streets; in 2024, the total hauled away was only 5.9 tons–a 66% decrease!
Join us Saturday, April 26 on Safe Harbors Green at 9am to check-in; heavy duty gloves and garbage bags will be provided. Please note: this is NOT a bulk pickup day for large items. This event is rain or shine.
For event information, contact Ken Martinez at 845.784.1110, or email kmartinez@safe-harbors.org.

SYEP EJ Fellows Final Work Day
Our 2 SYEP EJ Fellows had a full final day, starting with weeding of the Planting Power Newburgh food forest at Calvary Presbyterian Church. We then did a thorough trash clean up with Keep Newburgh Beautiful and additional SYEPers from MARCS Friends on South Street between Grand and Chambers.
From there we joined Land to Learn and Our Core SYEPers at Ann Street Garden, and then back to home base at Wireworks to work on design, social media, event planning, work documentation, and reflections.
It was a great 1st year working with Orange County SYEP and we are grateful for their support!
