Kathryn McKenzie is a dynamic leader who seamlessly blends her artistic background with her passion for environmental advocacy. Growing up in the City of Newburgh, Kathryn's early love for nature was rekindled through her father's garden, leading her to pursue a career dedicated to environmental justice. A former dancer, she transitioned into environmentalism and research, where she quickly made her mark.

The Environmental Justice Fellowship has opened up new avenues to amplify both my voice and the voice of a community that has been marginalized like Newburgh. It has enabled a diverse group of people to embrace and confront the challenges we continue to face in pursuit of a greener future.
Most importantly, it has rekindled my hope for life, namely the desire to be an agent of change through nurturing connection, growth, and equity.
