Saturday, June 1st, 2024 Newburgh’s Environmental Justice (EJ) Fellows:

• Interacted with community members at the South Middle School Annual Books & Breakfast event, sharing information about the benefits of trees, the need for ecological restoration, and gathering input through tree surveys

• Cared for trees at South Middle School and practiced identifying invasive species

• Reviewed an inventory or Newburgh Parks and recommendations for improvements, worked on mock presentations to City Council

• Fellows also shared reflections of the day’s work and made progress mapping out their Pillar projects for the year
